Features
Turns the comments and ping status to closed after a specified period of time. The comment form is not shown anymore. The user can’t comment or send a ping.
Comments are turned off in the database. Deactivating the plugin will not open the comments that have been turned off. They will remain off.
Installation
Unzip the file and upload to your plugin folder. Default turnoff period is 60 days. Change that to your liking, and you are set.
Upcoming Features
I plan to add an exception list so that you may control if you want a few of the posts still allow comments even though they were posted before the cut off time.

this needs to be a standard feature on free wordpress.com blogs ..
I wager many people would like their venting out there for a while, or just want to post a short public note …. yes, naysayers, I am aware of how public caching services work.
please bug the wordpress.com people … and the blogspot.com people while you’re at it.. they listen more attentively to developers
